Cohort 2 📍 Region 7

Buchanan County is building a Community Schools infrastructure across all eight of its schools, formalizing supports that the division has been providing and expanding them under a coordinated model. The division is working with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Appalachia as its anchor community partner. At the elementary and middle school level, programming includes sensory and calming spaces, dedicated STEM labs, and mental health and behavioral intervention services. At the high schools, the focus is building a career pipeline that includes CTE courses, career fairs, student internships, and work-based learning experiences. All eight schools share a Community Schools Implementation Team that is coordinating this work across the division.
