All students can be taught that all feelings are ok. Students can be taught that they can acknowledge their feelings without becoming their feelings. I would ask teachers to reinforce these ideas in morning meeting and teach students mindfulness techniques and give value assessments during counseling lessons.

Acceptance and commitment is a strong team effort within my practice. I believe we could improve on this with more training and team building for our students and staff. Its so important to we help students build themselves up for their future and lives.

Have students commit to a written plan on ways to improve their situation/issue and revisit the plan each week.

I could improve by ensuring that students understand that their feelings are valid so that they do not avoid their feelings which can accumulate and lead to more negative outcomes. I would change the setting by having a small board and post-its so students can write down something they value for discussion during a follow-up session.
